IV Sedation Dentistry at Titensor Dental

If fear of the dentist has kept you from receiving the care you need, IV sedation may be the solution for you. At Titensor Dental, we offer IV sedation to help patients feel relaxed and comfortable during their dental procedures.

How IV Sedation Works

IV sedation is a highly effective form of sedation dentistry that relaxes patients and minimizes discomfort during treatment. Administered directly into the bloodstream, IV sedation induces a state of deep conscious relaxation. While you won’t be fully asleep, you will be extremely calm and likely have little to no memory of the procedure afterward.

IV Sedation at Titensor Dental

At Titensor Dental, we prioritize patient comfort and safety. Our team offers a range of sedation options, including local anesthesia, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), and oral sedation. For patients who prefer IV sedation, we partner with Dr. Ben Quenzer, a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist and President of North Dallas Anesthesia. Dr. Quenzer specializes in deep sedation for dental procedures and has extensive experience training dental offices for medical emergencies.

Benefits of IV Sedation

  • Highly effective for moderate to severe dental anxiety
  • Fast-acting for immediate relaxation
  • Adjustable levels of sedation to ensure continuous comfort
  • Allows multiple procedures to be completed in one visit
  • Patients experience little to no memory of the procedure

Throughout the IV sedation process, your vital signs—including breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure—are carefully monitored to ensure your safety. While recovery is generally quick, some grogginess may persist immediately after the procedure.

IV Sedation Requirements

IV sedation typically requires two appointments:

  1. Consultation: Dr. Titensor will explain the benefits and risks of IV sedation, answer your questions, and provide detailed pre-procedure instructions.
  2. Procedure Day: You must arrange for another adult to drive you home after your appointment. Strenuous activities, driving, and alcohol consumption should be avoided for the remainder of the day. Medications should only be taken if approved by Dr. Quenzer.
